Robert Griffin has been engaged by AOA as the Legislative & Compliance Advisor to the Executive Committee, the Standing Committees, and for member-auxiliaries.

Robert holds a charter AOA Honorary Lifetime Membership Award, having served in every officer position, as a long-time Executive Committee member during his 26 year service with the Cal Poly Foundation (now Cal Poly Corporation), and as a close colleague to John Francis, AOA's legal counsel for many years.

As the Legislative & Compliance Advisor, Robert is an Ex Officio member of the Executive Committee. He identifies, tracks and reports on significant legislative, regulatory and compliance-related issues affecting AOA and its members. He publishes periodic Updates for the Executive Committee and each of the Standing Committees. An Annual Update is given to the membership at the Annual Conference.

Additionally, AOA members may access his periodic Updates and FLASH postings on the AOA Web Bulletin Board. Executive Committee and Standing Committee members also receive timely AOA Current Events email messages. AOA members are encouraged to contact the Legislative & Compliance Advisor for an initial consultation on legislative matters, oversight issues, governance, compliance, policy and management practices development, exemption status, corporate formation, restructuring and dissolution, and related matters. Separate engagement arrangements should be made for any follow-on work.
